ARLINGTON – The Wichita Falls High Lady Coyotes didn’t emerge victorious in Friday’s 1-1 draw against L.D. Bell in Arlington, but the team still impressed Coach Robert Woodard with its resolve.

After Bell scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute, Woodard's team fought hard to tie things back up – something it did when Jazel Sanchez scored in the 35th minute.

“What a great game today was for us,” Woodard said. “L.D. Bell is a solid team, they posed some problems for us, but our girls communicated and stuck together. Being down a goal and coming back to tie is an indication that we will not give up.”

It was Sanchez’s second goal of the season. She scored Thursday in a 5-0 win over Arlington Sam Houston. The assist was credited to Emari Villalpando. She has two goals this season, but had yet to record an assist until Friday.

Old High keeper Zoe Brewster made nine saves on ten shots.
